Crunchy FrugalistaHow many times have you seen something pop up in your Facebook feed or Twitter stream and wondered who the heck is the from. When exactly did I “like” that page? I know that happens all the time in my feed. I mean who ARE you?

Well, when I was tagged by my pal at Life with Captain Fussybuckets, I thought I would jump on the bandwagon and share my bloggy beginning story. It’s always fun to share a little bit about myself with you guys and of course I always love learning more about you guys too!

So who am I? Well most of you know me as Crunchy Frugalista or Crunchy. My name is actually Ashley, pat yourself on the back if you actually knew that! I am a 33 year old momprenuer. My family and I live in Indiana and have for the past four years. When I am not writing or blogging, I am homeschooling my three children.

Who Are You

Blogging away and the flower fairy placed a flower in my hair

I started Crunchy Frugalista March 2011 as a way to teach friends and family across the country how to save money. When my husband lost his job a few years back, I learned how to become quite the coupon crazy. My stockpile grew and our savings went through the roof, and I constantly had friends asking me how I do it. Well, it wasn’t easy teaching via Facebook so I decided to start a blog. (Thus the Frugalista part)

My family and I have always been passionate about the environment and how living frugally can actually help your family live a little bit greener. That’s why I knew it would have to be a part of the blog (Thus the Crunchy part)

Around January, Crunchy Frugalista moved away from sharing strictly deals and became more of a frugal family blog. Now I write about things that just make life fun. I cover current events, jokes, parenting tips, reviews, and more. Pretty much anything that would be interesting to a family with tween children. It’s been amazing to see how Crunchy Frugalista has grown and getting to know the readers has been a true pleasure.

Since writing Crunchy Frugalista, I have also been able to meet tons of great bloggers along the way as well. I have shared my story about how CF began, and I would love for you to check out some of my favorite blogs and bloggers as well.
