EVEN HOMESCHOOLERS HAVE BACK TO SCHOOL SEASON

Peanut AllergiesEven though my family homeschools, even we have a “back-to-school” season. For us that means more field trips, and getting out more. As you guys know, my youngest daughter has tons of allergies, one of which is to peanuts. Her allergist tells us that we have to be really vigilent to make sure that she doesn’t even touch a peanut.

That may sound like a hassle, but for our family it just means being a little more aware and having some handy tools. One of those it tools is Wet Ones. We ALWAYS keep some in my purse. I also slip some in my daughter’s jackets and bags when she is at a friends house. That way she can wipe down a table or a seat before she touches it. Peanuts leave a residue that you can’t see, but according to recent studies, wiping the surface down sufficiently can prevent severe allergic reactions.

NO MORE FIGHTING WITH HOW TO STORE WET ONES

I used to just throw some of the Wet Ones in a plastic baggie and send it with my daughter, but now they have these really cool individual packets. Normally I am not a fan of individually wrapped things because it’s just more trash in landfills, but it makes her actually USE them when she goes out. She feels “cool” for some reason. I guess it’s because she actually has something to throw in her purse.

Wet Ones

The part that makes me happy is that they are hypoallergenic. She can even use them on her sensitive skin, plus they get rid of 99.9% of germs so I don’t have to worry as much about her getting sick. With all her allergies, she is on immune suppressors and is at a much higher risk for getting sick. These wipes make me feel a little bit better about letting her live as normal of a life as possible.

GREAT FOR MOMS TOO

It’s actually pretty convenient for me to throw in my purse too. When I had them in the plastic baggies they would always try out when I needed them. This way I always have something to wipe my hands on when I need it. It works amazingly out in the garden.

I wrote this review while participating in a blog tour by Mom Central Consulting on behalf of Wet Ones. I received a product sample to facilitate my review and a promotional item to thank me for taking the time to participate.

  1. Loving that wet ones come in individual baggies! I used to carry the big container in my car and just grab a few at a time when we were heading into a restaurant.

  2. I love how portable they are!

Wet ones are great, I try to keep some on hand because my kid can go from spotless to messy in under three seconds.

I like the idea of the smaller package as it seems like it would be impossible to leave the lid open and ruin them. Not that that has ever happened to me…

  5. I always have Wet Ones on hand. They are great at taking off make up too.

Hi there:) I am the mother of a peanut allergic child and am a big WetOnes supporter:) My son is starting Kindergarten this year and his school is being supportive by implementing procedures of wiping down every childs hands and face with WetOnes. As you can imagine, the WetOnes bill is going to by a lofty one and I was wondering if anyone knew of a way to get them for the school for a cheaper price since they need them in huge quantities. For now, my parents are donating the WetOnes for the year, but we’d like a better way to fund this:) Any suggestions are welcome. Thx!

Leslie, The way I usually get essentials like that is by joining a program like Swagbucks or Superpoints. They are programs where you can really easily earn Amazon codes, which are like cash on Amazon.com. Then I just watch the deals on the items my family constantly uses to get them for free. Plus, you could always write to WetOnes and see if they would be willing to supply some for you. Make sure you write a personal story, that usually makes it more likely for them to help :) . Good luck.

Love, love, love Wet Ones!!! Been carrying them for about “22″ years….since I had a child. They kill germs & have endless uses!!! I have a large tube in every vehicle we own! And the whole family uses them religiously…cuts down on sickness. Can’t beat the convenience. ; )
