Rascal FlattsRascal Flatts is celebrating 10 years together with the release of their latest album Changed. They kicked off the release of their new album with the Changed: One Night only theater event. Select theaters across the country showed an insight into the group and their journey to creating their latest album.

I was able to attend the one night only event, and it was a great personal look at the band and what the last ten years have meant to all of the band’s members. It was really refreshing to hear candid, honest stories about the blur that has been the last ten years including when their former label shut its doors and strife between band members that resulted in the last two years before the new album release.

The last few years have been rough on Rascal Flatts, but Changed was coming back to their roots. In the words of  Jay DeMarcus, “[It was the] perfect way to usher in the next 10 years of Rascal Flatts,” and usher it in they did.

Changed has a great array of different tunes. “Banjo” is a foot tapping backwoods beat that brings out the desire to get away and escape the “concrete jungle.” It left me craving the countryside away from all the city chaos.

Hot in Here was another lively beat on the track. It has you imagining the hot, passionate humid South and wishful moments that cause your temperature to rise. Definitely one of my favorites on the album.

Lead singer, Gary Levox,  calls Changed a “big crock pot…It’s got meat, potatoes, vegetables—all of it. It’s fun, it’s poignant, and we think the hard work that went into has really paid off. And we’re very glad to take one more big step down the road.”

Changed is a great album from Rascal Flatts. It shares all that has changed with the band over the last ten years, plus brings in new flavors of change that fans can expect to come in the next ten years. If you are a Rascal Flatts fan, or even if you are new to the band, Changed is the album that you really will want to pick up!

I did receive a copy of Changed to facilitate my review as a member of One2One Network. All opinions are my own.
