You can ask my husband, I am not the cook in the house so if I am going to cook it needs to be fast and simple! I came up with the recipe when I had planned mini pan pizzas for lunch, but when I opened the canned dough I had bought it was bad. So I had to improvise, but I managed to feed my family for less than .30 cents/serving!

Makes 8 pizza pockets

Pizza Pockets

Ingredients:

2 cans Pillsbury Crescent rolls

Spaghetti sauce

Grated cheese

Pizza toppings of choice

Garlic powder and italian seasonings (optional)

How to make these delicious little lunches:

Unroll one can of Crescent rolls. You should have 4 sheets of two.

Pizza Pockets

Take two of the triangles and press them together to form a rectangle

Spread about 1 Tbsp of spaghetti sauce in the middle of each crescent rectangle

Place about 1/4 cup of cheese and toppings in the middle

Fold over the cresent rolls to form a pocket.

Press the edges down with a fork to make sure it is sealed.

Sprinkle garlic powder and italian seasoning on top for extra flavor (optional)

Place in oven according to crescent roll package instructions

Warm up extra spaghetti sauce for a great dipping sauce

Enjoy. These are easy and a really frugal meal idea!

Here’s how the cost breaks down

1/2 Jar Generic Spaghetti Sauce .50 cents

Cheese $1.50

Crescent Rolls (.30 each) .60

Total cost per serving .33 cents ( 8 servings)

Sure, I want to take online cooking classes through Culinary Schools in Ohio. But for now, I need easy and speedy.

This is an awesome idea. I love pizza, but tend to overdo. This keeps it in a better serving size!

  5. What a brilliant idea! I’m totally going to give this a try.

I have a couple questions for you. Don’t get me wrong yours sounds great. But how do you think it would turn out with real pizza sauce? Im addicted and even eat it plain or with string cheese (weird I know). How how about throwing some pepperoni in???

Those both work really well :) I have a daughter with allergies which is why mine had some alternative things left out. Let me know how yours turn out ! :)
