I have lived in a home that has a fireplace for three years. I absolutely love having a warm, crackling fire to come home to after running around with the kids all day. It’s one of the benefits of being in Indiana where it actually gets cold.

Since moving up here, I had always used real wood for my fires, but I have quickly learned that it’s very expensive. It was costing us about $7 a fire because we had to put a whole bundle of wood it to last for a few hours. That gets expensive really quickly.Duraflame Gold Log

Enter Duraflame to save the day! I saw they were on sale at Meijer at the beginning of Fall, and of course I had a Duraflame coupon! It made it so much less expensive to have a fire in my home, and it lasted MUCH longer than the bundle of wood!

I was stoked when I got home and read the box that it was even better for the enviornment. Made my crunchy side all happy! It’s better for the environment because Duraflame is not made from a single tree! No deforestation happening with this product.

Duraflame also gives off less pollutants in the atmosphere than regular wood bundles. Less CO2 in our atmosphere is definitely a good thing! I don’t know about you, but I think our planet is getting too hot as it is courtesy of the green house effect.

Just saying, next time you go to light a fire give Duraflame a try. Their new Gold logs are sure to delight. You won’t even notice that it’s not actual wood.

Bill Kassis said, “He who cuts his own firewood is twice warmed.” (Bill Kassis? Go figure, I thought it was Ben Franklin or somebody like that.)

Nice homily. I am not sure it is really relevant when you are covered with chainsaw oil and sawdust, hiking up steep slopes and trying to pull a recalcitrant log down without damaging your truck… LOL

Anyway, I digress… This sounds like a good alternative to having to cut your own firewood…
