Spice up your meals with Charcrust Seasoning: Give your dishes a little sass

Char CrustBeing a Southern gal, serving a great meal is all about dishes that are full of flavor. A bland dish is almost sacrilegious in my house. I would rather throw a meal out than serve something that is tasteless. Ok, so maybe I am being a little melodramatic, but a huge part of our family life is about food and what amazing dishes we can come up with.

CHARCRUST: A NEW WAY TO ADD SOME SASS

I recently had the chance to try some Char crust dry rub seasoning. My herb cabinet is chock full of herbs and spices, but I am not normally a fan of premixed dry rubs. Trying to live a little dangerously, I figured I would give these seasonings a try. Boy, am I glad I did.

Char Crust seasonings added some serious sass to one of my favorite crock pot recipes. Last week, my husband and I made some beef brisket barbecue for dinner. Before we placed the meat in the crock pot we rubbed it with the American Barbeque seasoning and let it simmer on low for 6 hours. I wanted to see what spunk this rub had so I didn’t add any more spices to the dish so I could get the full effect. If you want to try this barbecue beef brisket recipe make sure to check it out here.

SEASONING THAT DOESN’T DISAPPOINT

There are a lot of pre-packaged dry rubs out there, but many of them fall short. No being a fan of premixed dry rubs I didn’t have high hopes for Char crust, but I have to report that I was pleasantly surprised. The rub really locked in the juices of the meat and made a huge difference in the meal.

Our beef brisket was full of amazing flavor. The spice added a little kick to the dish, without adding too much heat. It also cut down on time, because all I had to do was grab the one packet of spices and rub it on the meat before throwing it in the crock pot.

FLAVORS TO PLEASE ANY PALATE

Char crust offers 4 different flavors, so they are sure to have spices that will make any mouth happy. They currently offer:

• Roasted Garlic Peppercorn features the robust flavor of roasted garlic and onions with the zing of peppercorns and a hint of Worcestershire and lavender. Its versatility has made it a best seller. It complements steaks, lamb, seafood, pork, poultry, and potatoes.

• Ginger Teriyaki is a balance of sweet teriyaki, fragrant ginger, plus a tingly touch of wasabi that lends a new dimension and creates a modern teriyaki interpretation. It complements chicken, fish, and steak.

• Amazin’ Cajun is a spicy-sweet blend of piquant cayenne pepper, onion, garlic, oregano and a mélange of other Mardi Gras flavors. It brings the sublime heat of New Orleans to catfish, chicken, shrimp, and even “dirty” rice.

• All American Barbecue takes the best flavors of American barbecue and blends them into a tangy-sweet, slightly spicy rub. It has rich molasses from Memphis, tangy tomato from Kansas City, mustard, pepper and vinegar from the Carolinas, plus a wisp of smoke from Texas.
