As a culture we are so weight obsessed, it’s no wonder that most that most women have no clue what they “should” or “shouldn’t” eat. With Real Women Love to Eat, you can take those two words right out of your vocabulary. It’s a breath of fresh air!
No matter where my weight has been, I have, and will, always love food. I will never be one of those women that could care less about eating. This book embraces women that realize that food is to be cherished and celebrated, not scorned. It was amazing to finally find a book that gets it. You don’t have to eat carrots all day to love yourself and love your life. You can love food and still be healthy. You don’t have to give up food in order to love your life.
The book takes you week by week through the “Real Moms Love to Eat” plan. Before you judge, this isn’t another diet that restricts what you can have. Nor is it one that tells you EXACTLY what to eat. There is a lot of freedom in this plan. It’s based on liberating your mind from all those do’s and don’ts we think we are supposed to say when it comes to eating.
I mean come on. What diet plan tells you to each chocolate and something you love every day during the first week? This book does! It’s about taking back your power, and building a strong, healthy relationship with food!
The plan runs over the course of ten weeks. It’s purpose is to let you realize that food isn’t the enemy. You can enjoy food, make succulent dishes, and be happy. It addresses both what you eat, and the things that hinder your relationship with food.
After the ten week plan, there is a great collection of recipes in the back for you to get started with. These aren’t things you “have” to make, but just general suggestions to get your started on rebuilding your life with food. If you are looking to improve your relationship with food, without giving it up, this book is must read.

I completely agree with any ‘diet’ plan that addresses how to eat healthy for life rather than restricting severely for a goal. Any of those deprivation diets just make me want to overeat when I’m done and regain weight.
Laura, That is exactly why I loved this book. It wasn’t about can’t and depriving yourself. It was accepting the fact that it is ok for real women to love food. It really did a good job showing ways to ease into better eating, and finding foods that you love and including them in your diet.
This is so true. Depriving yourself would lead to binge, i’d think. I love to eat, it’s all about eating the right foods
Yep, it’s about understanding that any food has a place in a balanced diet. It’s all about moderation and slowing down and actually enjoying what you eat. I tend to power shovel when I eat. It takes practice to slow down
.
Speaking from experience. When I deprive myself of the foods I love. I end up eating WAY (half a pie) more than I would have if I’d just allowed myself to have a small portion.
You’re better than I, I have been known to eat a whole pie on a binge.
Yes, deprivation is definitely not the answer.
That sounds like a great book!
It really is a great book, you should pick one up.
I would never be able to stick to a diet forever so I think they’re useless! What’s important is just learning how to eat properly – so this book sounds great – especially because it includes chocolate
That sounds like a book that I would enjoy reading, and that the author has good, practical advice.
This sounds like a great book! I love to eat too and struggle with diet plans.
I love food and will always do. I am seriously against diets. If we truly only live once, I am not going to stop eating what I like. Of course, I do eat in moderation (which is hard when I have a chocolate cake in the fridge calling my name). It is healthier to know how to eat than to deprive yourself
Love the title of this, if you read my blog you will see I cook to eat. I of course need to excercise but I am not one to starve myself. life is too short.
