My family and I have been loyal Walgreens shoppers for years. We especially loved the Wags family when my husband lost his job a few years ago. Their prescription savings plan helped me get my medications for a great discount, so I could still afford to buy them. Now they have a great new program, Balance Rewards, that is going to help me save even more!
My husband teases me all the time that I might as well set up a cot in the Walgreens store. (I am not THAT bad, I promise) I do love scoring some deals though. Walgreens has always been one of my go to stores for deals, especially this time of the year.
Getting our Halloween supplies at a discount is a must. We usually wait until 2 weeks before Halloween when Walgreens starts marking down their goodies and stockup! Throw in the launch of the new Balance Rewards program, and we were able to get so much more great goodies to make our Halloween awesome this year.
The seasonal aisle at Walgreens is always easy to find, and it’s always so nicely set up! We checked out the costumes, because our oldest still needs something for Halloween. There was also wall to wall chocolate to check out. I about wet myself when I saw that Cadbury eggs were now making a Halloween version! No more waiting for spring baby! (Yes, I am THAT stoked about chocolate)
We were also able to find out a great deal on a aluminum bucket with stand. It was only $5! For our Halloween party, we are going to use it for a bobbing for apples station. After the season is over, we are going to put it in the guest bathroom to hold towels. It was such a great deal we couldn’t pass it up!
After stocking up on all the Halloween goodies, we headed to check out. Our cashier was awesome. I had already signed up for the Balance Rewards online, and she was able to tell me how they could find my account. I just punched in my phone number, and my account popped up. They were able to attach a card right there. (I also have the app on my phone so if I don’t have my card, they can just scan my phone)
I am really excited about this program. The Register Rewards program was great, but I can’t tell you how many times I found a Register Rewards in my purse that had expired. Talk about making a grown woman cry. With Balance Rewards, all my points are on my card. Plus, I can opt when I want to use my points. It’s super easy to sign up, and even easier to use! I can’t wait for the official launch coming up later this month!
When we got home, our kids had a really great time putting up our decorations. We are having a Halloween party this year, and we needed to decorate our three season room to make it a little bit more spooky. Our eldest Keiran loves Halloween, and wanted to pitch in to. (Pretty impresssive for a teenager. She doesn’t get excited about much anymore).
