It’s that time of year, back to school season! Even though my family home schools, we still have excitement buzzing through our house as we get ready to embark on our new school year.

The kids love hitting all the back to school sales, so they can stock up on all their favorite pencils and notebooks. The way they shop you would think we were letting them shop at the Disney store or something.

About two weeks before we start classes again, we have the kids start to go to bed at a more regular time. We also set their alarms 10 minutes earlier every day. That way they are used getting up at a reasonable hour. It’s hard to teach kids that are still asleep at noon.

All this preparation makes the transition back to school so much easier. Having the right resources and support helps too. That’s why I was excited to see that the Boys and Girls Club of America has teamed up with Disney to offer the Tools for Back to School initiative. You can play a fun pop quiz game, and for every correct answer they are donating school supplies to local Boys and Girls Club.

JCPenney is also joining in on the fun. For the month of August, sign up for the jcp rewards program and you can round up to donate to Boys and Girls club. If you haven’t done your back to school clothes shopping yet, head to JCPenney’s and donate for a great cause.

I wrote this review while participating in a blog tour by Mom Central Consulting on behalf of Boys and Girls Club. I received a promotional item to thank me for taking the time to participate.

  3. Setting the alarms 10 mins. earlier everyday is a great tip. I need to get my 7 year old used to waking up in the morning again too. lol I’m definitely heading to JcPenney for last minute back to school shopping and ’rounding up’… such a great cause!

They’re such a great organization! My son is starting back to school in the morning. I should be sleeping now so I’m not exhausted when I get up with him!
