If anything is guaranteed in life it is change! That has been the story of my life since the beginning. Despite being a Type A personality, I guess you can say I have learned to “roll” (tumble, fall, stumble over, and surf) with change. Crunchy Frugalista is no different!
Crunchy Frugalista began as a (don’t run screaming) “deal blog” to share frugal living and couponing with my family and friends across the country. After finding it was a blogger eat blogger world out there, I shifted gears and put a little bit more of my heart and soul into my writing. (You feel lucky now, don’t you?)
Since March 2012, Crunchy Frugalista has been a slapdash attempt at sharing the crazy things that go on in the life of a crunchy, homeschooling, writing mom. Whether it’s recipes, frugal ideas, antique shopping, DIY projects, parenting or jokes, it’s all here on CF to enjoy. CF is the place that lives to inspire, create, and share tips, DIY, crafts, recipes and more!
One thing you will notice is that my family is a HUGE part of my writing. Being a homeschooling mom, it means I don’t get “school breaks”. My kids are pratically with me 24/7. The scary thing is that I wouldn’t have it any other way. (Does that make me certifiable?) I live in Minnesota with my husband, aka Mr. Crunchy, a former Marine rifle instructor that keeps my Type A in line. He is honestly the best person on the planet, number one because he lets me call him Mr. Crunchy, and number two because he loves me for who I am. (Craziness and all)
Our three children are the apple of our eyes, and the reason for all of our gray hairs. (Well, I am still denying mine, and Mr. Crunchy doesn’t have enough hair to HAVE gray hair) Keiran is our eldest, and she is an absolute wonderful teenager. I know you think those words are mutually exclusive, but we are blessed that the horomones have not made her lose her mind. She is funnier than I am, and an amazingly special child that I am proud to call my “mini me.” Despite her diagnosis of CHARGE syndrome, she never let’s anything get in her way once she believes in herself.

Brenden, our middle child, is go go go. If he is not chattering a mile a minute he is building with Legos and trading Pokemon cards. I am trying to instill fear of me in him now BEFORE he becomes 6’4′ like his dad. I will let you know how that goes. Considering he already wears bigger shoes than I do, I think I am quickly running out of time.

Bayla is our youngest, and she is a capital D I V A. Of course I love her to pieces, but OMG she is gonna be the death of me. She is funny, zany, and full attitude. She suffers from severe allergies and psoriasis so she is often itchy and grumpy. Add diva to that, and we get some serious excitement in our house. Her love of Hello Kitty is like no other, so if you want to keep your hearing make sure to cover your ears when she sees Hello Kitty around! (Trust me on that one)
As you can tell, life is full of chaos at the Crunchy house. If you want to learn a few ways to make life a little bit more fun, or if you just want to laugh and thank God it’s not like this in your house feel free to join us!
